Week 56 - "In Vegas, Entertainers Always Win"

This is a song for the new musical project by August Mergelman and Samuel Stokes.  The musical is tentatively titled "The Great American Musical."

Lyrics:
In Vegas, entertainers always win (The always win).
In Vegas, entertainers always win (The always win).
I'm lousy playin' poker.
I'm a crooner and a joker.
But in Vegas, entertainers always win (They always win).

The spangles and guitars.
The fading movie stars.
The dancing girls and loung singers.
Florenz Ziegfeld's spirit lingers.

In Vegas, entertainers always play (They always play).
In Vegas, entertainers always play (They always play).
I've got no use for Keno,
But I've played every big casino.
In Vegas, entertainers always play (They always play).

Where gangsters still conspire,
And movie stars retire.
The promised land of milk and money.
One A.M. the strip is sunny.

In Vegas, entertainers get the breaks (They get the breaks).
In Vegas, entertainers get the breaks (They get the breaks).
You won't get highest billing,
But you might just make a killing.
In Vegas, entertainers get the breaks (They get the breaks).

If you can make 'em grin,
You're always in like Flynn,
'Cause in this land of every kind of sin,
The gospel truth is entertainers always win.

In Vegas, entertainers always win (The always win).
In Vegas, entertainers always win (The always win).
I'm lousy playin' poker.
I'm a crooner and a joker.
But in Vegas, entertainers always win (They always win).

Week 55 - "Think About What You're Gonna Do Today"

This song was written to help children think proactively rather than behaving in reaction to things that happen, whether expected or unexpected.

Lyrics:

When you first get out of bed
Think about what you're gonna do today.
Get ready for the day ahead.
Think about what you're gonna do today.
There's lots of good things you can do.
Think about what you're gonna do today.
And do nice things the whole day through.
Think about what you're gonna do today.

It's good to think ahead
So you can be ready
For what may come your way
All throughout the day

Be prepared for something new.
Think about what you're gonna do today.
So many things in store for you.
Think about what you're gonna do today.
And who knows what this day will do?
Think about what you're gonna do today.
But how you act is up to you.
Think about what you're gonna do today.

It's good to think ahead
So you can be ready
For what may come your way
All throughout the day

When you first get out of bed
Think about what you're gonna do today.
Get ready for the day ahead.
Think about what you're gonna do today.
There's lots of good things you can do.
Think about what you're gonna do today.
And do nice things the whole day through.
Think about what you're gonna do today.

Week 54 - "If the Answer is No"

This song is written to help children develop a strategy for interacting with parents, teachers, other grown-ups, and also other children, for knowing how to react when the answer is no for something that they want.

Lyrics:
Tell me do you know what you'll do if the answer is no?
It's good to have a plan. If you do then you'll be good to go.
Sometimes the answer is yes and sometimes it's no instead.
But you will be alright, if you just think ahead.
Tell me do you know what you'll do if the answer is no?
It's good to have a plan. If you do then you'll be good to go.

Maybe you ask to watch TV
But Mom says no, what do you do?
Have a second choice like playing with your toys.
Exercise to be strong or sing your favorite song.
Now you can see why there's no need to cry
There's so many choices for you.
